GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS
The following rules and regulations will pertain to all classes
and categories, unless specifically noted. Memphis Motorsports Park
will recognize all rules and regulations in the NHRA 2008 Rulebook
unless otherwise stated in these rules.
PIT VEHICLES, ATV's, SCOOTERS & BICYCLES:
No one under the age of 16 is allowed to drive pit vehicles, golf
carts, ATV's, scooters or bicycles at any time, even if it is being
used to tow a race car. These vehicles are not to be used as recreational
vehicles while at Memphis Motorsports Park. Support vehicles must
carry the corresponding race car number with class designation.
Misuse of pit vehicles will result in the vehicle being impounded
and the racer associated with the pit vehicle may be disqualified.
Anyone under the age of 16 found operating a pit vehicle will loose
any event points for that race. If a second offense occurs, the
racer will loose event points, and racing privileges will be suspended
for one (1) week, at the discretion of the Competition Director.
Parents should enforce this rule with all minors under the age of
16.
No roller blades, skates or skateboards allowed at any Memphis Motorsports
Park event.
WEEKLY E.T. BRACKET POINTS SERIES:
The weekly E.T. Bracket points series will include Super Pro, Pro,
D.O.T. and Jr. Dragster. The 2008 point fund is guaranteed to be
a minimum of $19,325. There will be a one-time registration fee.
Points entry is by class: Super Pro $30.00, Pro $25.00, Dot and
Pro Cycle $20.00 and Jr. Dragsters $20.00. If the point sponsorships,
registration fees and raffle funds exceed $19,325, the points fund
will be increased accordingly. Points will be awarded as follows:
- 20 points will be awarded for entering the event; however, tech
card must be turned in to track official to receive points.
- During eliminations, racers will receive 10 points per round
won.
- Buy backs will receive 10 points per round won.
- The winner will receive an additional 2 points and the runner
up will receive 1 additional point.
- No points will be awarded on break card refunds.
Racers choosing to be entered in the season-long points must register
before the 1st round of eliminations of the first E.T. Bracket event
in February. If entering after this time, points will start accumulating
with the 1st point race you enter, providing you register before
1st round of eliminations. All points are awarded to the driver
and cannot be transferred under any circumstances. Points are not
transferable from one eliminator to another. The driver and point
entry/car number are a combination and the number MUST be on the
car driven in eliminations to accumulate points. The car driven
in the 1st round of eliminations may not be changed. No substitute
cars will be permitted. A driver may enter the points more than
once, but must be driving different cars in eliminations. A car
may be driven more than once in eliminations, but must have a different
driver. No co-drivers, you must drive the race to accumulate points.
PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM & RADIO STATION:
Memphis Motorsports Park participants should pay close attention to
announcements on the public address system. Stay tuned for class calls
and the status of eliminations. Additionally, Memphis Motorsports
Park offers a broadcast of the PA on 100.3 FM.
CLEANING UP:
It is our opinion that Memphis Motorsports Park is one of the finest
motorsports facilities in the Mid-South. We hope you feel the same
and help us in an effort to maintain this high quality. We ask that
you please place all trash and refuse in the proper trash containers
provided in all areas of the facility. We also ask that all used oil
and fluids be deposited in the proper containers provided in the pit
area.
RESTRICTED AREAS:
The areas located directly beneath the control tower, staging lanes,
short chute, track, and return road are restricted areas. Spectator
viewing is not allowed from these areas. Children 14 years of age
and younger must remain inside a tow vehicle while in these areas.
Racers and spectators are not allowed in the race control or VIP Suites
without proper credentials.
PIT SPEED LIMIT:
The 10-mph pit speed limit will be strictly enforced. The only areas
of the facility that are excluded from this speed limit are the race
track and return road.
RAIN-OUT POLICY, NO CASH REFUND:
It is the goal of Memphis Motorsports Park to conduct events according
to schedule. Should there be a substantial chance that an event will
never get started due to rain or inclement weather, Memphis Motorsports
Park officials will make every effort to notify the public of cancellation.
Memphis Motorsports Park has an automated phone system and a web site
(www.memphismotorsportspark.com) that will contain information regarding
event status. If inclement weather begins after gates open, reasonable
efforts will be made to complete the event. Should weather halt an
event after first-round eliminations begin, drivers in attendance
will be awarded the points they have earned in previous full-round
competition, and rain checks will be honored at the next E.T. Bracket
event. No one will be eligible for a purse payout until after the
3rd round of competition has been completed. If the race is ended
after the 3rd round, the total purse will be split evenly among the
remaining drivers (previous round winners only), and the race will
be considered finished. In the event of a rainout the racer/spectator
must maintain their blue ticket to redeem at the next event.
BREAK RULE, NO CASH REFUND:
Drivers whose car breaks during time trials prior to eliminations
will be issued a Break card. Once a driver's car breaks during eliminations,
that driver may not continue eliminations in another car, and there
will be no refund available. No points will be awarded on a break
card refund. Racers must turn in a valid tech card to receive points.
PARTICIPANT CONDUCT:
All participants, which include but are not limited to drivers,
car owners, crew members, friends, family, and spectators, are expected
to conduct themselves in a professional and non-disruptive manner
at all times. Drivers must be aware that they are responsible for
the conduct of any person associated with their race team, regardless
of age or class of competition. Any disciplinary action that must
be taken will involve the driver of any car with whom the offender(s)
are associated. Any participant who, in the judgment of the Competition
Director (1) verbally or physically threatens another participant,
or other person, (2) uses vulgar or derogatory language, (3) engages
in unsportsmanlike conduct or conduct detrimental to the sport of
racing, or (4) otherwise creates a condition or circumstance that
is unsafe, unfair, or out of order, shall have violated the rules
and regulations of Memphis Motorsports Park and the NHRA. Failure
to comply with the participant conduct rules and regulations can and
will result in competition privileges being revoked and/or suspension
from future events at Memphis Motorsports Park or other NHRA sanctioned
events.
SUBSTANCE & ALCOHOL ABUSE:
Memphis Motorsports Park and NHRA will not tolerate the use of controlled
substances or alcohol by any individual wishing to participate in
any event taking place at the facility. Any participant suspected
of violating the NHRA Substance Abuse Policy will be referred to the
NHRA for disciplinary action.

an event will purchase a tech card at the ticket booths. Racers will
sign waivers and receive wristband at tech. Crew members and spectators
wishing to enter restricted area will have to sign the waiver as well
and receive wristband at the merchandise trailer. Any person refusing
to properly sign the insurance waiver and release will not be granted

registered for the Memphis Motorsports Park E.T. Bracket Racing
Series points. A formal protest must be filed with the Competition
Director prior to the start of eliminations and a $500 cash protest
fee will be required. The vehicle being protested will be taken
to a secured area where Memphis Motorsports Park officials will
inspect the car, accompanied only by the driver of the protested
vehicle. If the vehicle is found to be non-compliant with NHRA/Memphis
Motorsports Park rules, the driver will be eliminated from competition
that day, and will forfeit entry fees and all points accumulated
for the season. The driver may also become ineligible to compete
at Memphis Motorsports Park events for the remainder of the season,
or a period of time as determined by race officials. If the vehicle
is found to be non-compliant, the protest fee, minus a $100 technical
inspection fee, will be refunded to the driver filing the protest.
If the vehicle is found to be in compliance with NHRA/Memphis Motorsports
